The SECO 02206126 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for right-hand internal Acme thread cutting at 12 threads per inch. It carries the CP500 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating that improves wear resistance and tool life across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert follows the 16NR style with a 9.53 mm inscribed circle and a thickness of 3.47 mm (0.1366 inches). The 29-degree included angle matches the Acme thread form standard. Machinists and toolroom technicians working on CNC or manual lathes select this insert for precise internal threading operations on lead screws, power transmission components, and similar threaded features.
This insert is suited for internal Acme thread production in both job-shop and production turning environments. This insert is installed and indexed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians following standard CNC or manual lathe toolchange procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing the insert. Verify the insert is fully seated and the clamping screw is properly torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specification before beginning a cut. Inspect the insert edge condition and thread-form geometry with each indexing cycle to maintain tolerance control.
