The SECO 00099407 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT-F1 series, designed for precision finishing operations in CNC and manual turning applications. It carries a multilayer PVD coating of TiAlN and TiN, providing wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of workpiece materials. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a 0.25-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and a positive rake geometry with positive side clearance. The F1 chip breaker is optimized for finishing cuts, producing controlled chip formation at light depths of cut up to 0.2205 inches.
This insert is suited for finishing passes on stainless steel, steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium in both boring, facing, and turning operations. The neutral hand orientation and screw-holding method make it compatible with standard CCMT-style toolholders used in production and job-shop environments. It is appropriate for light-duty material removal where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are the primary objectives. Machinists working with difficult-to-machine alloys will find the CP500 grade useful across moderate to high toughness demands as classified under material grades M10, M20, and M30.
