Manufactured from solid carbide and coated with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN finish under the CP500 grade designation, this insert delivers a balance of wear resistance and toughness suited to demanding cutting conditions. It features a 1/4-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and a sharp cutting edge style with a positive rake and positive side clearance. The F1 chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing passes. This insert is intended for finishing operations including turning, facing, boring, and back turning. Its primary workpiece material is stainless steel, with secondary applications covering steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Inspect the insert seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
