The SECO 00098800 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe applications. Built to the TDCH series specification, this left-hand insert features a 60-degree triangular shape with three cutting edges and a positive rake geometry. The inscribed circle measures 5/32 inch (0.160 inch decimal), and the corner radius is 0.20 mm (0.0079 inch). The CP500 grade substrate is PVD-coated with TiAlN and TiN, providing wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous cuts in stainless steel and similar materials. ISO code TDCH06T002L. Meets ANSI and ISO standards.
This insert is suited for turning operations on stainless steel as the primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, and super-alloys and titanium. Material grade range covers M10, M20, and M30. The screw-held, flat-top chipbreaker design with a 15-degree relief angle supports positive rake cutting. Typical applications include finishing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and exotic alloy components in aerospace, medical, and general manufacturing environments. Sold individually per package; minimum order quantity is 10 units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement turning insert for TDCH-series screw-held toolholders accepting a 60-degree triangular insert with a 5/32 inch inscribed circle and 0.0929 inch hole diameter, conforming to ANSI and ISO TDCH06T002L specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure. Inspect the insert pocket seat for chips or debris before seating the new insert, and verify proper hand orientation before resuming operation.
