Product Description

The SECO 00098302 is a round carbide turning insert conforming to the RCMT10T3M0-F1 geometry and manufactured in grade CP500. It features a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating applied over a solid carbide substrate, delivering moderate-to-high wear resistance with sufficient toughness for demanding turning applications. The insert carries a 10 mm inscribed circle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a positive rake geometry with a sharp cutting edge. Four usable cutting edges and a full-radius round profile make this insert efficient in production environments. It is installed and changed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians on lathes and turning centers.

This insert is suited for facing, profiling, and turning operations at a finishing chip-load level using the F1 chip breaker. Primary workpiece materials include stainless steel, steel, and cast iron, with secondary suitability for superalloys and titanium. The neutral hand orientation and screw-held mounting method make it adaptable to a range of qualified toolholders that accept the RCMT style. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards under the shared code RCMT10T3M0-F1, so it fits holders spec'd to either standard.

Key Features

  • Round insert shape (R) with full radius and 360-degree included angle for multi-directional cutting
  • CP500 grade with multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating for wear resistance across steel, cast iron, and superalloy workpieces
  • F1 chip breaker geometry optimized for finishing cuts with a sharp cutting edge style
  • Positive rake and 7-degree relief angle provide clean shearing action and reduce cutting forces
  • Four cutting edges per insert extend tooling life and lower per-edge cost
  • Dual ANSI and ISO compliance under code RCMT10T3M0-F1 for broad toolholder compatibility

Compatibility

Designed for use in RCMT-style screw-held toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards for round turning inserts. Verify toolholder pocket specifications against the RCMT10T3M0 geometry before installation.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists on CNC or manual turning equipment. Power down and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamping screw to proper engagement — do not overtighten. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new cutting edge.
