The SECO 00097964 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation CCMX060304T-M07 in manufacturer grade F40M. It features a diamond (80-degree included angle) insert shape with a positive rake angle of 9 degrees and a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert is coated via PVD process with a TiAlN and TiN multilayer coating, which improves wear resistance and thermal stability across demanding milling applications. With two cutting edges, a corner radius of 0.0157 inches, and an inscribed circle of 0.2500 inches, this insert is sized for precision work in the CCMX-06 series toolholders. It is installed and replaced by machinists and CNC tool-setup technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Primary material codes are P, K, and S; secondary codes are K and N. The M07 chip breaker geometry is designed for medium cutting conditions where chip control and surface finish consistency are priorities. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and profile milling operations on CNC machining centers handling a range of workpiece hardnesses and interrupted-cut scenarios. The right-hand cutting orientation must be matched to the toolholder hand before installation.
Designed for use in CCMX-06 series screw-clamping milling toolholders that accept CCMX060304 geometry inserts. Verify toolholder hand (right hand) and pocket geometry before installation. No additional compatible model numbers were specified in the product data.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid seat damage or insert cracking — refer to the toolholder manufacturer's torque specification. Inspect the insert pocket seat for chips or debris before seating the new insert, and confirm the insert index is fully seated before resuming cuts.
