The SECO 00097754 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation SONX150508TR-M14 in manufacturer grade F40M. It features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, four cutting edges, and a positive rake geometry with a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert is PVD-coated with TiAlN and TiN for wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. At 0.219 inches thick and 0.622 inches inscribed circle diameter, it is sized for the SECO R220.99-15 cutter series. Right-hand orientation and a screw-in holding method are standard. The M14 chip breaker is suited for medium machining conditions on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys.
This insert is intended for face and shoulder milling operations in the SONX-15 series tooling platform. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, and superalloys and titanium (ISO material codes P, K, S). Secondary applications cover cast iron and non-ferrous metals (ISO codes K, N). Typical users are machinists and CNC operators in production or job-shop environments working with ferrous and high-temp alloy components. The insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order.
Designed for use in the SECO R220.99-15 cutter series. ANSI and ISO code SONX150508TR-M14 applies. Confirm cutter body pocket specifications before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine is locked out before seating or replacing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the cutter body pocket. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or debris before installing the new insert to prevent premature edge failure.
