The SECO 00096175 is a left-hand CFML-style indexable turning toolholder designed for grooving and cut-off operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a 1 x 1 inch square shank and a 6 inch overall length, making it a compact, rigid platform for precise insert positioning. The clamp-style insert holding method secures LC..1603.. series inserts, and the toolholder is machined from steel for durability under continuous cutting loads. Coolant-through capability is built in, supporting high-pressure coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working with multi-directional turning setups will find this holder a direct fit for demanding production environments.
The 00096175 is rated for universal workpiece material compatibility, covering material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. This includes steels, stainless steels, cast irons, non-ferrous materials, heat-resistant superalloys, and hardened materials. Its 90-degree lead angle and left-hand cutting direction make it suited for facing, grooving, and cut-off work where the tool approaches the workpiece from the left. The Multi-Directional Turning (MDT) series designation means it can handle multiple cutting directions in a single setup, reducing tool changes and improving cycle efficiency on turning centers and engine lathes.
Accepts LC..1603.., LCGN, LCMF, and LCMR indexable inserts with a 3.00 mm (0.1250 inch) insert width. Designed for use in the SECO Multi-Directional Turning (MDT) series toolholder system on CNC turning centers and conventional lathes with standard square-shank tool blocks.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or changing the toolholder. Ensure the shank bore or tool block is clean and free of chips before seating the holder. Torque the clamping screws to the machine or toolblock manufacturer specifications — do not substitute hardware or over-tighten without a calibrated torque driver.
