The SECO 00093178 is a solid carbide indexable boring bar designed for precision internal boring and turning operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. Built to the E-SCLC toolholder style, it accepts CC.. 21.5.. series diamond-shaped inserts secured by a screw clamping method. The bar features a 5/8 inch minimum bore diameter, an 8 mm shank diameter, a 95-degree lead angle, and a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees. At 8 inches overall length, it provides solid reach for deeper bore applications. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in demanding cuts.
This boring bar is suited for left-hand cutting operations in both boring and turning applications. It is commonly used by machinists and toolroom professionals working on CNC lathes, turret lathes, and live-tooling setups where a left-hand orientation is required. The solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for high-speed, precision applications where rigidity and dimensional stability are critical. Compatible insert size code is 21.5, with an insert inscribed circle of 0.25 inches and an insert thickness of 0.094 inches.
Accepts CC.. 21.5.. series diamond-shaped indexable inserts with a 1/4 inch inscribed circle and 3/32 inch thickness. Compatible insert size code is 21.5.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank in a toolholder or turret with appropriate clamping torque per the machine tool manufacturer specifications. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts or repositioning the bar. Verify correct left-hand orientation and lead angle clearance before initiating a cut.
