The SECO 00093167 is a right-hand SCLC indexable boring bar designed for internal turning operations in metal cutting applications. Built from solid carbide, it accepts CC.. 21.51 diamond-shaped inserts secured by a screw-clamp holding method. The bar features a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees and a -5 degree lead angle, with a minimum bore diameter of 0.625 inches and an overall length of 8 inches. A 0.5 inch shank diameter provides solid tool-holding rigidity in standard boring bar blocks and turrets. Through-coolant capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the insert tip, supporting chip evacuation and extended insert life in deep-bore applications. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tooling specialists in CNC turning centers and manual lathes.
The 00093167 boring bar is suited for internal diameter turning on CNC lathes, turning centers, and manual engine lathes in job shop and production environments. Its through-coolant design makes it well matched to deeper bore passes and harder workpiece materials where heat management is critical. The SCLC toolholder style orients the insert at a -5 degree lead angle, providing controlled entry and reducing radial cutting forces during finish and semi-finish boring. The 0.3130 inch center-to-cutting-edge measurement aids in setup calculations for bore centerline alignment.
Designed for use with CC.. 21.51 SCLC-style diamond inserts with a compatible insert size code of 21.5 and a 0.25 inch inscribed circle. Also referenced under manufacturer number E08-SCLCR-2.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the lathe or turning center is powered down before mounting or adjusting the boring bar. Secure the 0.5 inch shank firmly in the toolholder block to the manufacturer-recommended clamping torque for that holder style. Verify through-coolant port alignment with the machine tool-post coolant supply before engaging the coolant system.
