The SECO 00091827 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation SCET120612T-M11 in manufacturer grade F40M. The insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, four usable cutting edges, and a neutral hand orientation. A physical vapor deposition (PVD) applied TiAlN and TiN dual-coating over a fine-grain solid carbide substrate provides wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous milling. The T-Land cutting edge style combined with a 14-degree rake angle and 7-degree relief angle supports chip control across a range of workpiece materials. It is held in the cutter body by a screw clamp and is designed for single-sided use.
This insert is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium in both production and job-shop environments. Primary workpiece material codes are P, K, and S, with secondary codes K and N also supported. The M11 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-duty cutting passes. Compatible cutter series include R217.59-12 and R220.59-12, making it a direct fit for shops already running SECO tooling in those series. Installation is performed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in machine shop settings.
Confirmed compatible cutter series: R217.59-12 and R220.59-12. ANSI and ISO designation SCET120612T-M11 applies. Designed for single-sided mounting in SCET-12 series toolholders.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
