The SECO 00091357 is a TCMT-style triangular turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide and finished with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating under the CP500 grade designation, this insert delivers consistent cutting performance on demanding workpiece materials. The triangular shape provides three usable cutting edges, and the F1 chip breaker geometry produces a sharp edge with a positive rake angle suited for finishing and semi-finishing applications. The 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 1/32-inch corner radius define its size class within the TCMT series.
This insert is primarily applied to stainless steel machining, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium. It fits screw-on insert toolholders with TCMT-compatible pockets and is used in back turning, boring, facing, and general turning operations. The CP500 PVD coating and positive rake geometry make it well suited for interrupted cuts and heat-sensitive alloys where CVD-coated inserts may induce thermal cracking. Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or removing inserts.
