The SECO 00091055 is a double-ended, multi-directional turning insert designed for precision grooving and turning applications in metalworking environments. Manufactured from solid carbide with a micrograin substrate and applied with a PVD coating, this insert carries the manufacturer grade CP500 and the LCMF insert style designation. It features a neutral hand orientation and an MP chipbreaker geometry. Cutting height measures 0.177 inches, maximum cutting width is 0.197 inches, and insert length is 0.699 inches. Installation is performed by qualified machinists and toolroom technicians working with CNC turning centers and manual lathes.
This insert is suited for use across a broad range of workpiece materials, including hardened materials (H), cast iron (K), stainless steel (M), non-ferrous materials (N), steel (P), and heat-resistant superalloys (S). The double-end design extends usable tool life per insert. It is commonly used in production turning, grooving, and parting operations on both light and heavy-duty turning setups. The MP chipbreaker geometry helps manage chip flow across varying feed rates and depths of cut.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for toolholders accepting the LCMF insert style in the MDT series platform. Specific toolholder compatibility should be verified against SECO MDT series toolholder documentation prior to ordering.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the correct torque wrench and seating screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert — do not overtighten by hand estimation. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's setup documentation for proper insert indexing procedure.
