The SECO 00090975 is a right-hand CFIR-style indexable turning toolholder designed for grooving and cut-off operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built from steel, it features a 1 x 1 inch square shank and an overall length of 6 inches. The toolholder uses a clamp-style insert-holding method and accepts LC..1605.. series inserts, including LCGN, LCMF, and LCMR geometries. Its 90-degree lead angle and multi-directional turning (MDT) series design make it a versatile option for shops running a variety of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments are the primary installers.
This toolholder is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S — spanning hardened materials, cast iron, stainless, non-ferrous, steel, and heat-resistant superalloys. It is suited to both light and moderate grooving and cut-off applications in right-hand cutting direction. The maximum depth of cut reaches 0.610 inches, and the back-of-bar to cutting edge dimension is 1.250 inches, with a head length of 1.420 inches. This makes it appropriate for a broad range of turning center setups in both job-shop and production environments.
Accepts LC..1605.. series inserts; compatible insert geometries include LCGN, LCMF, and LCMR. Insert width is 0.187 inches (5.00 mm). Designed for right-hand turning centers with standard 1 x 1 inch toolholder block pockets. Also cataloged under SECO references CFIR and L-100-05D.
Installation and toolholder setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts or seating the toolholder in the turret or block. Verify insert seating and clamp torque according to the machine tool manufacturer and insert supplier guidelines before resuming cuts. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut to avoid clamp failure or insert breakage.
