The drill features a solid carbide tip with a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating applied via PVD process, providing wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds. The included point angle is 140 degrees, and the tip height measures 13.30mm (0.524 inches). Through-coolant capability allows cutting fluid to be delivered directly to the cutting zone, managing heat and chip evacuation during deep-hole operations. The 00090329 is suited for drilling steel workpieces in CNC machining centers and drill presses where replaceable-tip tooling reduces per-hole costs compared to solid carbide drills. The SD100 platform uses a P-geometry insert designation, targeting ISO P-group materials, primarily carbon steels, alloy steels, and tool steels. Through-coolant delivery makes this drill well-suited for deeper hole-depth applications where chip packing and heat buildup are concerns. Designed for use with SECO SD100 series drill bodies accepting a P-geometry replaceable tip. Primary workpiece material compatibility is ISO P-group steel. Verify body bore size and tip seat geometry before ordering replacement tips.
Replaceable tip drills should be installed and torqued according to the drill body manufacturer specifications using the appropriate torque key or wrench supplied with the tooling system. Ensure the tip seat on the drill body is clean and free of chips or damage before seating a new tip. Machine spindle should be powered down and locked out before tip changes. Verify through-coolant passages are clear and that the machine tool coolant system pressure is compatible with the drill body rating before operation.
