The SECO 00087635 is a left-hand CFIL indexable turning toolholder designed for cut-off and grooving operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built from steel with a 1 inch x 1 inch shank and an overall length of 6 inches, this toolholder accepts LC..1606.. series inserts secured by a clamp-style insert holding method. The head length measures 1.61 inches, with a back-of-bar to cutting edge dimension of 1.25 inches and a maximum depth of cut of 0.80 inches. It is part of the SECO Multi-Directional Turning (MDT) series and is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility across material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S.
This toolholder is suited for production turning environments where cut-off and grooving applications are performed on a wide range of workpiece materials. The left-hand cutting direction and 90-degree lead angle make it appropriate for specific setups requiring clearance on the left side. The multi-use tool designation supports flexible deployment across different operations without toolholder changes. Both residential machine shops and industrial production lines benefit from the MDT series design when consistent groove width and depth control are required.
Accepts LC..1606.. series inserts, including LCGN, LCMF, and LCMR styles with a 6.00 mm (0.25 inch) insert width. Compatible insert size code is LC1606. Designed for use in the SECO Multi-Directional Turning (MDT) series system.
This toolholder is installed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the lathe powered down before mounting or changing the toolholder or insert. Use appropriate torque for the clamp screw per the insert manufacturer's seating guidelines and verify cutting edge alignment to the workpiece centerline before beginning a cut. Confirm shank fit and clamping rigidity before engaging the workpiece.
