The SECO 00087626 is a right-hand CFIR-style indexable turning toolholder designed for cut-off and grooving operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a 3/4 x 3/4 inch square shank and an overall length of 4.5 inches. The toolholder uses a clamp-style insert holding method and accepts LC..1603.. series inserts, including LCGN, LCMF, and LCMR geometries. Built from steel, it is part of the SECO Multi-Directional Turning (MDT) series, which supports universal workpiece material applications across multiple material groups. Machinists and toolroom technicians installing this holder will find the 90-degree lead angle and right-hand cutting direction suited to standard OD grooving and parting setups.
This toolholder is intended for use in production and job-shop turning environments where precise grooving and cut-off work is required. It is compatible with a broad range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys, as indicated by material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The multi-use designation means a single holder can accommodate multiple insert geometries within the LC..1603.. family, reducing the number of dedicated toolholders needed on a turret or tool post. Coolant-through capability is not included in this holder.
Designed for use with LC..1603.. series inserts, specifically compatible geometries LCGN, LCMF, and LCMR. Suitable for universal workpiece materials covering material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. Part of the SECO Multi-Directional Turning (MDT) series. Catalog references: CFIR and L-075-03B.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the machine spindle and ensure the lathe or turning center is fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the toolholder. Verify that the shank seats fully and squarely in the tool post or turret pocket and that all clamping fasteners are torqued per the machine tool manufacturer specifications. Confirm insert seating and clamp engagement before returning the machine to operation.
