The SECO 00085475 is a solid carbide milling insert in the CCMX-08 series, identified by ANSI and ISO code CCMX08T308T-M08. It features an 80-degree diamond shape with a positive rake angle of 15 degrees and a T-Land cutting edge style, making it suited for stable, predictable cutting performance in demanding milling applications. The insert is PVD-coated with TiAlN and TiN layers, using the F40M manufacturer grade with a fine grain carbide substrate. With an inscribed circle of 0.3161 inches, a thickness of 0.1732 inches, and a corner radius of 0.0315 inches (1/32 inch), this is a right-hand, single-sided insert held by screw. It is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC milling operations.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material groups P, K, S, and N. It is well suited for general-purpose and finish milling passes where consistent chip control is required. The M08 chip breaker geometry supports a wide range of cutting conditions across these material groups. Compatible cutter series is R215.59-08, making it a direct fit for setups already using that platform in both job shop and production environments.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R215.59-08. ANSI and ISO code CCMX08T308T-M08 confirms direct fitment in toolholders and cutter bodies specified for that insert designation.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and spindle locked. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when securing the screw-held insert — do not overtighten or use impact tools. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert. Always verify insert orientation and hand designation match the cutter body before resuming operation.
