Part of the Snap Tap series, it is manufactured from micrograin solid carbide with a CP500 grade designation and a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating for extended wear resistance. The insert features a 60-degree included angle and a 1.25mm pitch, making it suited for right-hand external ISO thread profiles. At 0.1366 inches thick with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, it seats into standard 16ER-style toolholders. Machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments install this insert for threading operations on stainless steel and similar work materials.
This insert is engineered primarily for stainless steel workpieces (material code M) where PVD-coated micrograin carbide provides the combination of edge sharpness and heat resistance needed for consistent thread quality. The A2 chipbreaker geometry assists with chip control during threading passes. The right-hand orientation suits standard external threading operations in typical turning setups.
