The SECO 00076807 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation OFMT050405TR-ME12 and manufacturer grade F40M. It features an octagon shape with 8 cutting edges and a right-hand cutting orientation. The insert is PVD-coated with a TiAlN and TiN multilayer finish, delivering wear resistance across a wide range of workpiece materials. An ME12 chip breaker geometry combined with an 18-degree rake angle and T-Land cutting edge style supports controlled chip formation during face and shoulder milling operations. The insert is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method and is rated as a multi-use tool suitable for single-sided use.

Insert seating and replacement is performed by machining technicians or tool crib personnel following the cutter body manufacturer torque guidelines for the screw-clamp retention system. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Never force an insert into a damaged or contaminated pocket, as improper seating can cause insert fracture or dimensional inaccuracy during the cut.
