The SECO 00075886 is a laydown threading insert designed for cutting external Acme threads on a lathe or CNC turning center. Built from solid carbide in the CP300 grade, it carries a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating that extends tool life when threading steel workpieces. The insert follows a 26ER style with a right-hand cutting orientation, a 2 threads-per-inch (TPI) pitch, a 29-degree included angle, and an inscribed circle of 15.88 mm (0.6252 inches). Thickness measures 7.88 mm (0.3102 inches). It belongs to the Snap Tap series and conforms to ISO standards. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible 26ER-style toolholders to produce Acme thread profiles.
This insert is suited for external Acme thread production in steel and similar P-category workpiece materials. The 2 TPI pitch makes it appropriate for lead screws, power screws, and threaded actuator components commonly encountered in industrial and mechanical fabrication environments. The CP300 carbide grade paired with PVD coating provides wear resistance during interrupted cuts and continuous threading passes at moderate cutting speeds. This is a single-insert package sold with a minimum order quantity of two units.
Designed for use in 26ER-style external threading toolholders that accept laydown inserts with a 15.88 mm inscribed circle. Intended for right-hand external Acme thread applications on steel workpieces.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing the insert. Seat the insert fully and evenly in the toolholder pocket and torque the clamping screw according to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify thread form and pitch with a thread gauge on the first part before running production.
