The SECO 00072403 is an indexable threading toolholder designed for internal threading and turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built from steel, this left-hand holder accepts 11NL inserts secured by a screw-clamping method, providing rigid, repeatable insert positioning during cut. The shank measures 0.336 inches in height by 0.375 inches in width with an overall length of 4.0 inches. A minimum bore diameter of 0.5 inches defines the smallest internal feature this holder can reach. It is part of the Snap Tap series and is suited for machinists and tooling specialists working in production or job-shop environments.
The 00072403 is applied in internal threading and turning operations where a left-hand cut path is required. With a back-of-bar to cutting edge measurement of 0.285 inches and a center-to-cutting-edge distance of 0.285 inches, it is sized for bores at or above 0.5 inches in diameter. This holder works without coolant-through capability, making it appropriate for applications where external coolant delivery or dry cutting is the standard practice. It is a multi-use tool supporting both threading and general turning passes.
Designed for use with 11NL indexable threading inserts with a 1/4 inch inscribed circle. Suitable for internal threading and turning applications in bores with a minimum diameter of 0.5 inches.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. The machine spindle and turret must be fully powered down and locked out before mounting or changing toolholders. Confirm the insert is fully seated and the clamping screw is tightened to the tool manufacturer's standard before initiating a cut. Verify shank clamping depth meets the minimum recommended grip length for the turret or boring bar block in use.
