The SECO 00072314 is an indexable threading toolholder designed for internal threading and turning operations on lathes and turning centers. The toolholder features a right-hand orientation with a rectangular shank measuring 0.691 inches in height and 0.75 inches in width, with an overall length of 7 inches. It accepts 22NR series inserts with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, secured by a screw-clamp holding method. Constructed from steel, this toolholder is built for rigidity in production threading environments. It carries no coolant-through capability, so flood or mist coolant must be applied externally. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators are the primary users of this toolholder.
This toolholder is suited for internal threading and turning applications in both job shop and production settings. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.9 inches, it is appropriate for threading medium to larger bored features. The head length is 2 inches, and the maximum depth of cut is 2 inches, giving operators adequate reach for most standard internal threading passes. The back-of-bar to cutting-edge dimension and center-to-cutting-edge dimension are each 0.492 inches, which is useful for presetting tool offsets in CNC setups. This toolholder belongs to the Snap Tap series.
Compatible with 22NR series indexable threading inserts with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle. Designed for use in internal threading and turning operations requiring a minimum bore diameter of 0.9 inches.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine before mounting or changing toolholders. Torque the insert screw to the insert manufacturer's specification using the appropriate Torx or hex key. Confirm tool offset and center height alignment before running the first threading pass.
