The SECO 00072250 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining environments. Conforming to ANSI insert code DNMG432 and ISO code DNMG150408, this insert features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a neutral hand orientation and a negative rake geometry. It is PVD-coated with a multilayer TiAlN and TiN coating under the CP200 grade designation, delivering high wear resistance when cutting stainless steel, steel, superalloys, and titanium. The MR3 chip breaker geometry supports roughing and medium machining operations. With four cutting edges and a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, this insert offers extended tool life and reliable performance in production turning setups.
This insert is suited for CNC lathe and turning center applications in both job shop and production environments. Primary workpiece materials include stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes M and S), with secondary suitability for steel and cast iron (ISO codes P and K). Typical operations include back turning, boring, facing, and general OD turning. The insert is held via clamp, pin, or lever lock toolholders compatible with the DNMG pocket configuration.
