The SECO 00072242 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMP-MF1 series, designed for precision metal cutting in demanding machining applications. The insert features a 55-degree diamond shape with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch (0.0315 inch) corner radius. It carries a CP200 manufacturer grade with a multilayer PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN coating, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The MF1 chip breaker geometry and honed cutting edge style are optimized for controlled chip formation during finish and semi-finish turning. This insert is used by machinists and CNC operators running production or job-shop turning operations.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, and back turning operations. Its primary workpiece materials are stainless steel and superalloys and titanium (ISO material groups M and S). It also performs in secondary applications on steel and cast iron (ISO groups P and K).
