The SECO 00072235 is a CNMG433-MR3 indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating. Carrying the CP200 manufacturer grade, it features an 80-degree diamond insert shape, a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, a 3/64-inch (0.0472 inch) corner radius, and a 3/16-inch insert thickness. The MR3 chip breaker geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge style are engineered primarily for stainless steel and superalloy and titanium workpiece materials. With four cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation, this insert suits high-productivity turning, facing, and boring operations where tool life and edge integrity under demanding cuts are the priority.
This insert is rated for primary use on stainless steel and superalloys and titanium (ISO material codes M and S), with secondary suitability on steel and cast iron (ISO material codes P and K). It fits standard CNMG-series toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods. Typical applications include external and internal diameter turning, shoulder facing, and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers in general machining and aerospace or energy component shops. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.4606 inch, making it capable across roughing and semi-finishing passes.

Indexable insert replacement is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the toolholder.
