The SECO 00071949 is a right-hand SCLC-style indexable turning toolholder designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It uses a screw-lock insert holding method to secure CC-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, delivering consistent rigidity and repeatable cutting edge positioning. The shank measures 0.5 inches wide by 0.5 inches high with an overall length of 3.5 inches. Neutral rake geometry and a -5-degree lead angle make this holder suitable for a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. It is installed by machinists and CNC lathe operators in production and job-shop environments.
This toolholder is used in external turning applications across universal workpiece material groups, including steels, stainless steels, cast irons, non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and titanium. Its compact shank profile fits standard tool turrets and quick-change toolpost systems that accept a 0.5 x 0.5 inch shank. The screw-lock clamping system provides positive insert retention during interrupted cuts and high-feed passes. Compatible inserts include CCMT 32.52 geometry inserts. This holder is suited to both roughing and finishing passes where a right-hand cutting direction is required.
Designed for use with CC..32.5. series inserts, with full compatibility confirmed for CCMT 32.52 geometry inserts. Fits tool turrets and toolpost systems accepting a 0.5 x 0.5 inch shank cross-section.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC lathe operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing the toolholder or insert. Seat the shank fully in the turret pocket and torque the clamping bolts according to the machine tool manufacturer specifications. Use the correct Torx or hex key for the insert screw and follow the insert manufacturer torque value for the screw-lock clamp to avoid over-torquing the insert pocket threads.
