The SECO 00071664 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert in the MDT series, designed for precision external and internal turning operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. Manufactured to insert style LCGN with style designation LCGN160302-0320-FG, it features a TiAlN/TiN PVD coating for extended tool life and heat resistance. The insert carries a maximum cutting width of 0.126 inches, a cutting height of 0.177 inches, and a corner radius of 0.008 inches. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide in the CP500 grade, it is suited for use by machinists and CNC lathe operators in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is designed for multi-directional turning applications where a neutral-hand, single-end LCGN-style insert is required. The FG chipbreaker geometry and 7-degree relief angle make it applicable across a wide range of workpiece material codes including H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened materials, cast iron, stainless, non-ferrous, steel, and superalloys. The MDT series is commonly used in grooving and turning combination operations. This insert is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production insert for MDT-series toolholders requiring LCGN160302-style inserts with a 0.118-inch standard lock ring size.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine is powered down and the spindle is fully stopped before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench or clamping tool specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the insert. Verify insert seating and lock ring engagement before resuming cutting operations.
