The SECO 00071645 is a multi-directional turning (MDT) insert designed for precision grooving and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built from micrograin solid carbide in manufacturer grade CP500 with a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating, this double-ended insert delivers consistent edge performance across a broad range of workpiece materials. It carries insert style LCMF with a neutral hand orientation and an MT chipbreaker geometry. Cutting width measures 0.25 inches, cutting height is 0.177 inches, and the corner radius is 0.02 inches. The insert is suited for machinists and toolroom technicians running multi-directional turning toolholders in production environments.
This insert is intended for use in MDT-series multi-directional turning systems on CNC turning centers handling a wide range of workpiece materials. The primary workpiece material codes supported are H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous materials, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. The double-ended design allows the insert to be indexed, extending usable tool life per insert. Style designation is LCMF160605-A250-MT. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with MDT-series multi-directional turning toolholders accepting LCMF160605 style inserts. Compatible workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated in the input specifications.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque guidelines. Power down the machine spindle and engage the e-stop before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping the cutting edges prior to use.
