The SECO 00070081 is an indexable chamfer end mill designed for chamfering operations on milling machines and machining centers. It accepts two SPMX 12T3 series inserts secured by screw-clamp holding, delivering consistent edge prep across a cutting diameter range of 1 inch to 1.55 inches. The 1-inch Weldon Flat shank provides positive drive and reduces pullout risk at higher feed rates. With an overall length of 5.12 inches and a maximum depth of cut of 0.28 inches, this tool is sized for production chamfering on medium-to-large workpieces. It is part of the R215 / R215.49 toolholder series and operates at up to 16,900 RPM.
This end mill is built for chamfering on CNC milling centers and machining centers in metalworking environments. Its 45-degree included angle makes it suited for standard edge preparation, deburring chamfers, and countersinking operations on steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials. The two-insert configuration supports balanced cutting forces at the spindle speeds typical of production environments. Machinists and toolroom technicians working with R215-series tooling will find this a direct-fit chamfering solution.
Designed for use with the R215 and R215.49 toolholder series. Compatible inserts are SPMX 12T3AP-75 and other SPMX 12T3 style inserts per the Milling Normal ISO series specification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing inserts or mounting the tool in the holder. Confirm the Weldon Flat is correctly aligned with the set screw in the tool holder before tightening to prevent axial movement. Verify spindle speed does not exceed the 16,900 RPM maximum rating before beginning the cut.
