The SECO 00070080 is an indexable chamfer end mill designed for chamfering operations on milling machines and machining centers. It accepts two SPMX 0903 style inserts and is built to the R215.39 toolholder style specification. The tool covers a cutting diameter range of 0.75 inches to 1.04 inches, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.24 inches and an overall length of 4.33 inches. The 60-degree included angle makes it well suited for standard chamfer and deburring work on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The 0.75-inch Weldon flat shank provides positive drive engagement and resists pullout under interrupted or heavy cutting loads.
This end mill is used in production and job-shop environments where consistent, repeatable chamfers are required. It fits standard Weldon-style tool holders and is at home on vertical machining centers, horizontal mills, and CNC milling setups. The Milling Normal ISO series designation indicates broad suitability across general-purpose milling applications. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals will find it appropriate for chamfering bores, edges, and part intersections in low- to medium-volume runs. The indexable insert design reduces downtime compared to solid carbide chamfer tools, since inserts can be rotated or replaced without removing the body from the holder.
Compatible insert styles include SPMX 090304-75 and SPMX 0903AP-75. The body is built to R215.39 toolholder style geometry. Fits standard 0.75-inch Weldon flat end mill holders.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Before inserting or indexing inserts, ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat inserts fully against the pocket before tightening clamping screws, and verify torque with the insert manufacturer's recommended driver. Confirm shank engagement depth in the Weldon holder meets the minimum grip length recommended by the machine tool builder before commencing cutting.
