The SECO 00064906 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CPMT-F1 series, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe applications. The insert features a diamond 80-degree shape with a positive rake geometry and sharp cutting edge, making it well suited for continuous and semi-continuous cutting passes. A multilayer PVD coating of TiAlN and TiN provides thermal resistance and wear protection across the cutting zone. With a 3/8 inch inscribed circle, a 1/64 inch corner radius, and a manufacturer grade of CP200, this insert delivers controlled chip formation via the F1 chip breaker on stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, steel, and cast iron.
This insert is built for boring, facing, and turning operations where tight tolerances and surface finish matter. It is a neutral-hand insert held by screw, compatible with CPMT-style toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes M and S). Secondary applications include steel and cast iron (ISO codes P and K). It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards and carries ISO code CPMT09T304-F1 and industry standard number CPMT32.51-F1. Material grade designations are M01, M10, M20, S10, and S20. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10.
Designed for use in CPMT-style screw-clamp toolholders. Compatible with CNC and manual lathes performing boring, facing, and turning on stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, steel, and cast iron workpieces.
Installation is performed by machining professionals or toolroom technicians. Before indexing or replacing the insert, power down the machine and confirm the spindle has come to a full stop. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the screw clamp; do not overtighten, as insert cracking can result. Verify insert seating in the pocket before resuming cutting operations.
