The SECO 00064786 is a laydown threading insert designed for internal thread cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built from micrograin solid carbide in the CP500 manufacturer grade, it features a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating for extended tool life across a wide range of workpiece materials. The insert profiles 60-degree included angle threads at a thread pitch range spanning 48 to 8 TPI (0.50 to 3.00 mm pitch), making it suited for partial-profile internal threading passes. The 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 0.1366-inch thickness conform to standard laydown insert geometry for quick changeovers in compatible toolholders.
This insert is intended for use in metalworking and machining environments where internal threads must be cut with repeatable accuracy. The universal primary workpiece material classification covers ferrous metals, stainless steels, cast irons, and high-temperature alloys, giving it broad application across job-shop and production turning.
