The SECO 00061863 is a right-hand indexable grooving toolholder designed for external non-face grooving operations in metalworking and machining environments. Part of the Multi-Directional Turning (MDT) series, this toolholder features a maximum depth of cut of 0.216 inches and a minimum and maximum groove width of 0.118 inches. The overall length is 8 inches, and the shank measures 0.711 inches wide by 0.671 inches tall. Through-coolant capability is built in, supporting higher cutting speeds and tool life in demanding applications. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC lathe technicians working with precision grooving tasks.
This toolholder is suited for grooving stainless steel and other challenging workpiece materials in turning center and lathe applications. The A..-CGHR style holder accepts LC..1303.. inserts, including LCMF and LCMR insert families, providing flexibility across common grooving operations. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.790 inches and a back-of-bar to cutting edge measurement of 0.570 inches, it is appropriate for internal grooving in bores where clearance is a primary consideration. The multi-use tool designation allows it to serve across multiple grooving directions within a single setup.
Designed for use with LC..1303.., LCMF, and LCMR inserts. Compatible insert size code is LC1303. The MSC/Manufacturer reference number for this holder is A12-CGFR/L 1303. Minimum hole diameter for boring applications is 0.790 inches (20.07 mm).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the lathe or turning center is locked out before mounting or changing the toolholder. Confirm insert seating and clamp engagement before initiating a cut. Verify coolant line connection to the through-coolant port before operation to protect the insert and workpiece surface.
