The SECO 00059637 is a carbide replaceable tip drill designed for high-productivity metal removal in steel and ferrous workpiece applications. Built around the SD100 series platform, it accepts a solid carbide replaceable tip with a P insert geometry, eliminating the cost of discarding an entire drill body when tip wear occurs. The drill features a 13.1mm diameter and a 140-degree included point angle optimized for centering and chip control in steel. A TiAlN coating applied via PVD process provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. Through-coolant capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the tip for heat management and chip evacuation in deep-hole drilling operations.
This drill is suited for CNC machining centers and turning centers where steel is the primary workpiece material, consistent with ISO material group P. The SD100 series replaceable tip design is commonly used in production environments where setup time and tooling costs must be controlled. The 10.4mm tip height and P geometry make this configuration a standard choice for general-purpose drilling in carbon steel, alloy steel, and similar ferrous materials. A minimum order quantity of 2 applies to this SKU, with individual unit packaging.
Designed for use with SECO SD100 series replaceable tip drill bodies. Tip geometry is designated P, intended for primary use in ISO P group workpiece materials such as steel and cast steel.
Installation and tip replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing or seating the replaceable tip. Follow the SD100 series tool body seating procedure and verify tip is fully seated and secured before resuming cutting operations. Confirm through-coolant passages are clear and coolant pressure is set per machine specifications before engaging the cut.
