The SECO 00057650 is an indexable boring bar designed for internal boring and turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built on a steel shank measuring 3/8 inch in diameter and 2.5 inches overall length, this toolholder accepts CD-style diamond inserts in the 1.2 size, secured by a screw-clamp holding method. The right-hand cut orientation and negative rake geometry suit conventional climb-free finishing and semi-finishing passes. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.277 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1.25 inches, this bar is suited for small-bore precision work where reach and rigidity must be balanced.
This boring bar is used in machine shops, production turning cells, and tool rooms where small-diameter internal features require consistent, repeatable toolpaths. The SCLD toolholder style positions the diamond insert at a -5 degree lead angle, making it appropriate for straight boring, light turning, and shoulder approaches on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is typically set up by a machinist or tooling technician and run in applications where insert indexing speed and screw retention security are priorities. Coolant-through capability is not included in this holder.
Compatible with CD.. 1.2 series diamond inserts (compatible insert size code 1.2). Insert screw CS115 is specified for this holder. Designed for use in boring and turning applications on standard lathe and turning center tooling systems accepting a 3/8 inch shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of chips before mounting. Secure the shank firmly in the tool block or turret to the full engagement depth recommended for the machine tool to minimize overhang deflection. Index or replace the CD 1.2 insert using the specified CS115 insert screw and appropriate Torx or hex key; do not overtighten beyond the insert manufacturer's fastener specification.
