The SECO 00057646 is a right-hand SCLD indexable boring bar designed for internal turning operations in metal cutting applications. Built from steel, it accepts CD.. 1.2 diamond-shaped inserts held by screw clamp, providing secure seating during interrupted and continuous cuts. The bar features a minimum bore diameter of 0.265 inches and a 1/4-inch (0.2500 inch) shank diameter, making it well suited to small-bore finish and semi-finish turning work. A negative rake angle of -12 degrees and a lead angle of -5 degrees govern chip formation and cutting geometry. Installation requires no coolant-through capability, so standard external coolant delivery applies.
This boring bar is used in CNC turning centers, engine lathes, and turret lathes where small internal diameters must be machined to close tolerances. The 3-inch overall length and 1/4-inch shank make it a fit for small-bore toolholding systems in both production and job-shop environments. It is a single-application tool, not configured for multi-use or modular adaptation. Machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary end users.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts or setting tool offsets. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the recommended minimum clamp length to prevent vibration and deflection at depth. External coolant should be directed at the cutting edge since this bar does not support coolant-through delivery.
