The SECO 00054151 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNMP432-MF1 series, designed for precision finishing operations on stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a CP200 manufacturer grade with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating, delivering high wear resistance across demanding materials. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and four usable cutting edges with a honed cutting edge style. A neutral hand orientation and negative rake and clearance geometry make it compatible with standard CNMP-style toolholders. Licensed machinists and CNC operators use this insert for boring, facing, and turning applications where close tolerances and surface finish are the priority.
This insert is rated for finishing-class chip loads using the MF1 chip breaker geometry, which controls chip flow effectively on ductile and work-hardening materials. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel and superalloys and titanium (ISO material groups M and S). Secondary suitability covers steel and cast iron (ISO groups P and K). The maximum depth of cut is 0.48 inch, and the insert length is 0.51 inch. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units, making it appropriate for shop restocking and production environments.
Designed for use in CNMP-style toolholders that accept a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, 3/16 inch thick, 80-degree diamond insert with negative clearance geometry. Suitable for boring, facing, and turning operations. Conforms to ANSI insert code CNMP432 and ISO insert code CNMP120408.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and de-energize the machine tool before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification when using screw-lock or lever-lock systems. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping the cutting edge prior to use; do not use an insert with a visibly damaged edge.
