The SECO 00043201 is a right-hand MCLN-style indexable boring bar engineered for internal turning operations on metal workpieces. Built from steel with a pin-and-clamp insert holding method, it accepts CNMG 322 inserts and delivers a negative rake geometry suited to stable, controlled material removal. The bar features a 1.0000-inch minimum bore diameter and a 3/4-inch shank diameter, making it a practical choice for machinists and toolroom professionals running CNC lathes or manual boring setups where repeatable insert indexing is required.
This boring bar is intended for turning and internal boring applications in production and job-shop environments. The MCLN toolholder style positions the CNMG insert at a -5-degree lead angle and a -14-degree rake angle, geometry suited to medium and finishing passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 10-inch overall length provides clearance for deeper bores while the 3/4-inch shank fits standard boring bar holders and turret pockets sized for that shank diameter.
Designed to accept CNMG 322 inserts with a compatible insert size code of 32 and a 1/8-inch insert thickness. Fits standard 3/4-inch shank boring bar holders. The manufacturer cross-reference number is S12-MCLNR/L-3.
Installation and tooling changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Secure the 3/4-inch shank in the turret or boring bar holder to the tool manufacturer and machine builder specifications, ensuring adequate shank engagement to minimize overhang-related deflection. Inspect the insert seat and clamping pin before each insert index. Follow the machine tool builder guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool offsets and confirming bore dimensions.
