The SECO 00041053 is a left-hand A-MCLN indexable boring bar designed for internal turning operations in metal cutting applications. Built from steel with a 1.5-inch shank diameter and a 14-inch overall length (OAL), this boring bar accepts CNMG 432 inserts secured by a pin and clamp holding method. The minimum bore diameter is 1.78 inches, making it suited for medium to large bore finish and semi-finish turning work. Coolant is delivered through the body directly to the cutting zone, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in demanding cuts. A lead angle of 95 degrees and a negative rake angle of -5 degrees are built into the geometry.
This boring bar is used in CNC and manual lathe operations where left-hand cutting direction is required. It is appropriate for production and job-shop turning environments handling steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The through-coolant feature makes it particularly effective in deep bore applications where flood coolant has limited reach. Machinists, toolroom operators, and production turning specialists are the primary users of this toolholder.
Designed for use with CNMG 432 diamond-shaped inserts with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and 3/16-inch insert thickness. Compatible insert size code is 43.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Ensure the lathe spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before mounting or removing the boring bar. Secure the shank in a boring bar holder or turret block to the full recommended grip length to minimize overhang deflection. Verify coolant line connection and flow before engaging the cut.
