The SECO 00040422 is a setting key designed for indexable tooling systems, specifically engineered with a TP15 Torx Plus drive to seat and secure indexable inserts on face mill bodies. This key provides the correct drive geometry required to achieve proper insert clamping torque without stripping the screw head or damaging the pocket. It is compatible with CO4011-T15P screws and is purpose-built for use with the QuattroMill series of face mills. Toolroom machinists and CNC setup technicians keep this key on hand whenever changing or indexing inserts on QuattroMill face mill bodies.
This setting key is used in metal-cutting environments where indexable face mills are mounted on milling machines, machining centers, or CNC mills. It is a single-piece hand tool used during insert changes, insert indexing, and general tooling maintenance. The TP15 Torx Plus drive reduces cam-out compared to standard hex drives, making it well suited for production environments where inserts are changed frequently. It is sold individually and is a direct-fit accessory within the QuattroMill face mill product family.
Compatible with QuattroMill series face mills using CO4011-T15P insert screws and a TP15 Torx Plus drive interface.
Insert changes on indexable face mills should be performed with the spindle locked and the machine in a safe, powered-down or e-stopped state. Use this setting key by hand only to engage and tighten the insert screw; do not apply a driver or torque multiplier unless the tooling manufacturer specifies otherwise. Follow the tooling manufacturer guidelines for proper insert seating before applying final clamping force.
