The SECO 00040419 is a countersunk lock screw designed to secure indexable inserts in cutting tool bodies used for drilling, grooving, and milling operations. It features a Torx Plus TP8 drive and an M2.5 thread, providing reliable clamping force and resistance to cam-out during tool changes. At 6.30 mm in overall length, this screw is sized for standard indexable insert pockets. It is sold individually but must be ordered in multiples of 10. Machinists and toolroom technicians working with indexable tooling systems will find this a straightforward consumable replacement.
This lock screw is intended for use in indexable toolholders configured for drilling, grooving, and milling applications. It is compatible with insert style C02506-T08P. The countersunk head sits flush within the insert pocket, keeping the clamping interface clean and allowing proper insert seating. This screw suits both production machining environments and job shop toolrooms where indexable insert systems are routinely serviced and maintained.
Compatible with indexable toolholders using insert style C02506-T08P and M2.5 thread insert lock screw pockets for drilling, grooving, and milling applications.
Installation is performed by toolroom technicians or machinists during insert indexing or replacement. Power down and lock out all machine spindles before servicing any indexable toolholder. Use a calibrated Torx Plus TP8 key and follow the toolholder manufacturer's recommended seating procedure to ensure the insert is fully seated before tightening the lock screw. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the screw threads or the toolholder pocket.
