The SECO 00040072 is a countersunk lock screw designed to secure indexable inserts in milling toolholders. It uses a Torx Plus TP20 drive and an M4.5 thread, requiring a T20P-3 key driver for installation and removal. At 10 millimeters overall length and a weight of 0.03 pounds, this screw is engineered for precision clamping of indexable carbide inserts. Licensed machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC setup personnel install this hardware as part of routine insert indexing and replacement cycles on milling tools.
This lock screw is used in milling applications where indexable inserts must be firmly and repeatedly seated in the toolholder pocket. It is compatible with XO.. 1806 series inserts and is suited for production machining environments where consistent clamping torque and reliable insert retention are critical. The countersunk head profile keeps the screw flush with the toolholder body, minimizing interference with the cutting zone. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Compatible with XO.. 1806 series indexable inserts. Designed for use with milling toolholders requiring an M4.5 thread lock screw with a Torx Plus TP20 drive. Requires a T20P-3 key driver.
Installation is performed by toolroom technicians or CNC setup personnel during routine insert indexing. Before replacing the lock screw, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is removed from the machine or the machine is in a safe lockout state. Use only the specified T20P-3 Torx Plus driver to avoid stripping the drive recess. Do not use standard Torx drivers, as Torx Plus geometry differs and can damage the screw head.
