The SECO 00039918 is a solid carbide milling insert with ANSI and ISO designation XOEX180631FR-E10, designed for face and shoulder milling operations in metalworking applications. Manufactured in grade H25 from micrograin solid carbide, this insert features an uncoated bright finish, a positive rake angle of 29 degrees, and a sharp cutting edge style. With a 15-degree relief angle and two cutting edges per insert, it is engineered for efficient chip formation and dimensional accuracy in demanding milling cycles. Licensed machinists and CNC operators typically specify this insert for non-ferrous metal and superalloy milling work.
This insert is intended for milling non-ferrous metals and superalloys including titanium, where sharp cutting geometry and uncoated micrograin carbide deliver clean surface finishes and reduced built-up edge. It fits compatible cutter bodies in the R217.69-18 and R220.69-18 series and is held in place by a screw-type clamping method. The parallelogram insert shape and right-hand cutting orientation suit standard climb and conventional milling setups on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills operating within the insert depth-of-cut envelope.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or removing inserts. Use the correct torque screwdriver specified by the cutter body manufacturer to secure the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as micrograin carbide inserts are brittle and susceptible to fracture from improper seating force. Inspect the pocket seat and screw for debris or damage before installing a new insert.
