The SECO 00039914 is a solid carbide milling insert in the XOEX-18 series, identified by manufacturer part number XOEX180608FR-E10 and graded H25 micrograin carbide. This single-sided, right-hand insert features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake angle of 29 degrees, and a sharp cutting edge style. With 2 cutting edges and a 1/32-inch corner radius, it is engineered for high-precision milling in demanding applications. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for materials where coating adhesion or built-up edge would be a concern. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers of this insert type.
This insert is designed for primary use in non-ferrous metal machining, with secondary suitability for superalloys and titanium. It is compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-18 and R220.69-18. The E10 chip breaker geometry supports efficient chip evacuation during milling passes. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and high-feed milling operations in production or job-shop environments where tight tolerances and surface finish are priorities. The insert is held in place via screw-clamping method on the toolholder.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R217.69-18 and R220.69-18. ANSI and ISO code for this insert is XOEX180608FR-E10. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and insert seat dimensions before installation to confirm fitment.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the spindle fully de-energized and locked out per applicable machine-specific lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque — do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating the insert. Always index or replace the insert before the cutting edge is fully worn to avoid toolholder pocket damage.
