The SECO 00039079 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation SONX09T304TR-M10, manufactured to grade T350M with a CVD-applied TiCN and Al2O3 multilayer coating. It features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake angle of 19 degrees, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert measures 0.3760 inches in inscribed circle diameter, 0.1563 inches thick, and provides four usable cutting edges via a single-sided, right-hand configuration. It is designed for use in milling operations and is installed by machinists and tooling technicians on CNC and conventional milling platforms.
This insert is suited for milling stainless steel as its primary workpiece material (ISO material code M), with secondary suitability for steel (P), cast iron (K), and superalloys and titanium (S). The M10 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-grain carbide performance across these material groups. The insert is held in the cutter body by a screw-type clamping method and is compatible with the R220.99-09 cutter series, making it applicable to face milling and shoulder milling operations in both production and maintenance shop environments.
Compatible with the SECO R220.99-09 cutter series. ANSI and ISO code SONX09T304TR-M10 with insert size code 09T304 and series designation SONX-09.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Before indexing or replacing inserts, ensure the spindle is fully stopped, locked out, and the machine is in a safe state per applicable shop safety procedures. Use the correct torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the cutter body specification; do not over-torque or use impact tools on the insert screw. Inspect the insert pocket and screw threads for debris or wear before seating a new insert.
