The SECO 00035451 is a solid carbide milling insert in the XOMX-06 series, designated by the manufacturer code XOMX060216R-M05 with F40M grade. This single-sided, parallelogram-shaped insert features a TiAlN and TiN coating applied via PVD process, delivering wear resistance in demanding milling operations. It carries a positive rake angle of 20.2 degrees, a 15-degree relief angle, and a honed cutting edge style. With 2 cutting edges and a right-hand orientation, it is designed for use in screw-held milling toolholders by machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The M05 chip breaker geometry supports a broad range of cut depths up to 0.2165 inches effective cutting edge length. It is typically installed in compatible R217.69-06 series cutter bodies. The insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units, making it appropriate for shop floor stocking in volume machining programs.
Designed for use with R217.69-06 series cutter bodies as specified by the manufacturer. ISO and ANSI code XOMX060216R-M05 allows direct cross-reference to compatible XOMX-06 series toolholders.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified value. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and edge geometry.
