The SECO 00035445 is a solid carbide milling insert with ANSI and ISO designation XOEX120408R-M07, manufactured in the F40M fine-grain carbide grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual-layer coating. Designed for the XOEX-12 series, this right-hand parallelogram insert features a positive 20.3-degree rake angle and a honed cutting edge style. It measures 0.4724 inches in length, 0.3228 inches in inscribed circle diameter, and 0.198 inches in thickness, with a 1/32-inch (0.0315 inches) corner radius. Two cutting edges are available per insert. It is intended for CNC milling operations performed by machinists and tooling specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material codes P, K, S, and N. The M07 chip breaker geometry supports a maximum depth of cut of 0.4724 inches and an effective cutting edge length of 0.4724 inches. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose peripheral milling where a positive rake geometry improves chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces on difficult-to-machine alloys and cast materials. The screw-hold mounting method provides secure, repeatable insert positioning in compatible toolholders.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-12 and R220.69-12 milling bodies. Insert size code 120408 corresponds to the XOEX-12 series platform.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to tighten the insert screw; do not overtighten, as solid carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under excessive clamping force. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before each insert change to maintain proper seating and runout.
