The SECO 00035407 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation VPGX220605ER-E10 in manufacturer grade H25. Designed for indexable milling cutters, this single-sided insert features a 35-degree diamond shape with a positive rake angle of 25 degrees and a honed cutting edge style. The micrograin solid carbide substrate is supplied bright/uncoated, making it well-suited for applications where coating is undesirable or where the operator applies a custom coating protocol. Two cutting edges are available per insert, and the screw-holding method provides secure clamping in the cutter body during high-feed passes.
This insert is intended for milling non-ferrous metals as its primary workpiece material, with superalloys and titanium listed as the secondary material application. The E10 chip breaker geometry supports positive-rake cutting action appropriate for these material groups. Typical installation scenarios include face milling, shoulder milling, and profile milling operations performed by machinists and tooling technicians in job shop and production environments. The insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with cutter series R217.97-V22 and R220.97-V22 as specified by SECO. ANSI and ISO code VPGX220605ER-E10 applies.
Installation is performed by tooling technicians or machinists following the cutter body manufacturer's torque and clamping specifications for screw-retained inserts. De-energize and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping the cutting edges during installation. Dispose of worn inserts according to applicable shop and regulatory guidelines for carbide tooling waste.
