The SECO 00035401 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation VPGX220631EN-E10, manufactured to grade H25 in a micrograin carbide substrate. The insert features a diamond shape with a 35-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry at 25 degrees, and a neutral hand orientation. The cutting edge is honed and paired with an E10 chip breaker for controlled chip formation. At 0.25 inches thick and 0.5 inches wide with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, it is designed for light-to-moderate milling passes. It is screw-held and single-sided, offering two cutting edges per insert. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10.
This insert is suited for milling non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper alloys, as well as superalloys and titanium. The uncoated, bright finish and positive rake angle reduce built-up edge and cutting forces on these materials. The E10 chip breaker geometry supports efficient chip evacuation in applications where material adhesion and work hardening are concerns. Compatible cutter series include R217.97-V22 and R220.97-V22. Typical install scenarios include face milling, shoulder milling, and profile milling operations on CNC machining centers in both job shop and production environments.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a vise or holding fixture before seating or removing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to drive the clamping screw to the tool body manufacturer's specified torque range as listed in the cutter body documentation. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or damage before seating the insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
